Is it a bad sign that my Application of Computers in Agriculture professor has never heard of regular expressions?

Date: 2007-02-23 07:57 (UTC)I guess the main thing that gets me is that he's so... full of himself. "I know how to use computers, I can do amazing things!" And then he tries to equate a USB port to a serial port (http://luna-torquill.livejournal.com/191293.html). Sigh.
And now for the cheap laugh:
Date: 2007-02-23 09:56 (UTC)Well, no, but I can see the confusion. For a PERL programmer,
/$_[\w\-]+(?:=[\w\-]+|="[^"]*")?$_/iois source code. For a Microsoft programmer, it's a user interface guideline.no subject
