Of mice and lists

Okay, no mice. Just a weekend.

On the slate for the weekend:

• Sleep. Kind of important.


• Chapter 4 homework.


• Start the lab writeup for chem.


• Do the prelab for chem.


• Read the next lab for bio so that I can take the quiz -- ten minutes, tops.


• Bills.


• Update the LWVDV page. I have to link it, but the page itself is done.


• Install the water filter cartridge, if Nick doesn't do it first.


• Give Gwen some more oil, and check the tires.


• Maybe pull the stereo and clean the lens with the lens paper I pilfered from bio.


• Screw with audio cap on my laptop - I can at least capture WAV files in linux. Encoding on the fly would be frosting.


• Install tigerlily on my laptop.


• I'm not going to pretend I'll have enough energy to wash the car, but who knows.


• Hack Nebula Improved. I haven't finished (I need to change the font color on something else now) but all parts are now at least legible.

Seems like more than enough... If I do half the list, I'll be happy.

Are you having problems with audio capture under Linux?

I don't know yet. The plan is to actually plug in the microphone and see what the lay of the land is. I'll test Windows first, since I suspect that'll Just Work... then I'll see what happens in linux.

I'd rather have it work in linux, since then I know I can feed the raw stream directly to a compression program like Lame. I'll have to see what I need and whether it works, though.
