They are under the table, in a basket lined with towels, napping after running across the kichen end-to-end. Food found: check. Water: check (after getting a noseful, damn that transparent nature). Litterbox: check. Basket: check. Onions, newspaper piles, shoelaces, space under shelves, spider: check.
Neither one had a problem running around while seven people stood or sat watching, and while they seemed a little intimidated by the new surroundings, they soon started climbing and exploring happily. They have about a week to settle in before we give them more house to explore, and then they can socialize with the older cats under the hall door. They're used to other cats, so I think most of the adjustment will be on the adults' parts.
Now we just need to find names for them.
