There is hope

torquillIt baffles me that I don't think to listen to music while doing work more often. I think better with music, and it drops my stress level... I know this, yet only rarely do I actually plug in the headphones. I need to do that, particularly now that I have many of my good "background" albums in mp3 form on here.
Cyndi took moderation of the Immune list back. What you're hearing is a sigh of relief... once I finish this paper, all I have to worry about is the next set of exams, then review for finals and the lab practical. I'm not concerned about the ecology oral presentation -- as long as I spend a little time on that, it's not going to impact my grade much. So I think most of the heavy stress I've been dealing with is lifting; exams are a known quantity, and I know the material well enough that I'll just need a few hours of serious review to do well. That sort of study is comfortable for me, and to a certain extent I enjoy it rather than dread it.
The semester is almost done. I can feel it starting to lift off my shoulders. Since Cyndi took the list back last night, I've been feeling more stable, more capable of shouldering things. I'm not exhausted and sleeping all the time, and I even felt like I was able to go out and weed a bit, take care of the small garden bits I had to do. That tells me that stress from school and life isn't crippling me anymore.
I'm going to be recovering physically for a little while, but I actually hope I can do that between exams and be pretty much up to speed by Baycon. We'll see whether I can do that, but given how little lasting effect my recent collapses have had, I have hope. I'm not as physically fragile as I used to be.
I'm going to go finish the Discussion portion of my paper now. Tomorrow we get to go out to Black Diamond Mines at 8am on a sunny morning (*wince*), then I'm thinking about breaking out the bicycle to wander down to the farmer's market. It would be the first time I've gotten on a bike since I injured my knee last July.
