Starting at 1 again
Jan. 1st, 2011 11:30As I commented elsewhere, this year it feels less like a fresh start than like another step on the same road. It's not a bad road for me, though it is a little rough and uncertain at the moment.
I've decided that once the weather clears a little (when I'm not up to my elbows in painting the bike) I need to do some meditation work, follow up on some of the stuff from last Burning Man. I've got a lot of changes going on in my life, and I expect I'll feel more comfortable if I have time to absorb that. It's the closest I come to a resolution, so there you go.
The issues of the last couple of days seem to be resolving themselves naturally, for the most part. (Must pay more attention in future.) I'm still on a downward swing in my social habits, however, so if you see me at all in the next half-year, expect it to be in *very* small groups and private venues, with tentative RSVPs. I'm playing things by ear. Once I get employed and start spending a lot of my waking hours with fields rather than people, that may shift back somewhat.
My health is good, with only minor irritants like being able to track the weather by the amount of inflammation in my joints. I've been old since I was 19, so it's not shocking, but I had rather hoped I wouldn't get this creaky before my mid-40s. Ah well.
This year will hold employment, medical insurance, my first smartphone, and probably a change in living situation. The details are lost in the fog, but it's still looking up. I hope all of you can say the same.
