torquillI've studied for the bio exam. I'm ready to walk in there tomorrow armed only with a pencil.
I am, of course, fully aware where that pencil may end up in my anatomy... but I'm willing to give it a try. If the teacher wants to screw me over by quizzing me on the different mechanisms of speciation, so be it.
For what it's worth, one of my fellow students who had Jerry for Bio 20 told me that he really does just consider the book to be a reference for further detail -- his tests are on exactly what he lectures on. My notes aren't really that detailed, they never are -- I tend to nod, say "that makes sense" and write down anything I can't recite along with the teacher at the time. (I've barely been writing anything at all in chem.) So if I'm comfortable with the info in the notes I do have, and I can trust that anything I don't have in there made inherent sense at the time, I should be okay.
Ah, hell, if I get less than a basic C I can still drop the class. C or better I can probably get a B for the course. Since it appears I won't drop dead of a heart attack tomorrow if I walk into the lab, I'll give the dice a roll and see how these teachers actually are.
