There are days...

On the way home today I thought about the number of job titles I could claim from just the last few days, and had a mental image of "Hang on, let me get the right hat" *rummage rummage* "Now what can I do for you?"

There are times I really identify with Henry on "Eureka". He ran the auto garage for the town, and his coveralls had a badge on them with "Mechanic" as his job title. You find out quite early on, however, that the badge has a velcro back, and the pocket it attaches to has a set of other badges, such as the one in my user icon (Forensics). If you need a handyman in a town full of geniuses, he's your man -- no matter what your problem is. Every so often when he's called in for a job, he'll dig in his pocket for the appropriate badge and stick it on.

I may not be in a town full of geniuses, but I swear I switch job titles multiple times per day. Gardener, tailor, graphic designer, web designer -- and that's just today. Add in the little bit of soldering I just did, my baking, plant pathology, the travel agency, the entomology experiment I'm running, my writing... yeah. Maybe I need little badges with velcro backs too.

Don't get me wrong, it's a lot of fun, but the context switching will get ya.
