I'm starting to feel like I'm back in school.

No problem catching the train, though I did get there just in time; I had to unload the bike from the car, and it took the (ahem) opportunity to foul its chain. So I walked it to the station and caught the train up.

I spent the ride sewing my BPRD patch to the front of my schoolbag, to join my new parrot pin. When I got off the train, I popped Opportunity's derailler back into place, enough that it would run... then looked for a dry place to do the rest. Twenty minutes of hacking put it back into some semblance of normal behavior, though I'll need to take a little time at the Bike Church on Wednesday if I want more than three gears out of seven on the back wheel. It works for now.

I bought schoolbooks -- whether I still need one more is up for debate, as it was listed but not in stock, and seems like either a different version or a lab text for the book I already have. At $150, though, the first round of books was relatively painless. I stashed them (and my jacket, it's warm here today) in my locker at the ARC.

Plant Biotech is taught off the cuff, as the literature is moving faster than textbooks can keep up. The teacher seems pretty mellow, though, and he told us that we probably know most of the material. I expect it to basically knit together the bits of info I've already learned into a coherent whole.

An hour later, I was very glad that I had bought my books in the morning, as the line for the bookstore lockers stretched halfway across the Union. I'm here at the ARC now, about to pick up my books and coat and head over to the station. I have some BPRD to read, so I'm looking forward to a relaxing commute home.

Not bad so far.
