Less frantic today; I don't feel nearly so swamped. I spent the weekend catching up on both homework and housework, and I seem to have my head above water, if only just. Now to see whether that feeling holds.

Friday night I dealt with all the trivia that had built up (sending various email messages, updating my calendar to reflect class events, that sort of thing). Saturday Greg and I moved the bedroom furniture into place... I still have piles of stuff coming in, but there might actually be somewhere to put it now. Then I went to San Jose for a nice quiet party, and spent the night down there. Sunday started slower than I would have liked, but it was pleasant, and I still ended up catching up on pretty much all of my Hum and Russian reading, as I'd wanted to. I did what I could of the biochem problem set on the train this morning (I need to read an online article for the other half, apparently). I did everything but type up my Russian homework last night. I still need to read up for my science classes, but otherwise I seem to be okay.

Today's gone all right, despite taking my birks instead of my shoes (note to self: buy another pair of canvas shoes at Payless when I get home, and keep the old ones up here as a backup). Classes were smooth, and I was saved by the written syllabus when the ento lab prof asked why on earth none of us had brought our books so that we could key things out -- he had written that we didn't need to bring them yet. My throat is sore again, so I pampered it by finding a pho restaurant for lunch... they apparently do a lot of Chinese as well, so I'll have to try that when I can swallow a bit better. The pho was quite good; I was a little daring and ordered one with tripe and connective tissue along with more standard beef bits, and it was surprisingly tasty. The mango shake, while it helped my throat, wasn't particularly good, though -- the black pearls were the only thing that saved it. I'll have to try something else off their drink menu. One more restaurant to add to the rotation, yay!

Tomorrow night will be spent reading, since Wednesday night is taken by [livejournal.com profile] knaveofhearts (as an aside, we should look into moving that to Thursday, if these homework trends persist, but we have a couple of weeks to talk it over.) As long as I stay on top of the GE classes during the week, I think I can wrangle the science classes on weekends -- everything so far has either been review or been tiny steps above that.

I really should sleep tonight, though -- my brain kept studying Russian folklore far into the wee smalls, and I feel like I didn't sleep at all. I must have done okay, since I don't feel more than a little tired, but sleep, like studying, is one place I can't afford to fall behind.

Rain tomorrow? gotta make sure I'm set up for that.

Thursday is as fine as Wednesday at the moment. Your flexibility is somewhat less than mine.

Now if only I could go dancing. Tonight's out. :-(
