Gardeners are crazy

torquillI overplanted the peas again. At this rate we'll start running out of fridge space quickly... so if you find sugar-snap peas on the table at events I go to, you'll know where they came from. Or bags of them at parties with a note saying "take me home". Or peas showing up on your counter unannounced... or bags on your doorstep, or buckets of them in the back seat of your car at work.
On second thought, those last two would have to be done by someone else I am not connected to and know nothing about. I would never do such a thing.
(These things are the zucchini of the legume world. Really. At least they taste better, and have more uses.)
I had to pick carefully on one end of the trellis, because once again, the paper wasps have decided that the interior of the pea vines is a great place to set up a nest. I don't mind, not much anyway; they're mellow little guys, and it takes a lot to provoke them, so I just try not to come within six inches or so and they're okay with that. The damage they do to the tomato worms in the height of summer is more than worth the small inconvenience of picking around them.
It's a beautiful day out there. I wish I had enough strength to start digging.
