torquillI got to school this morning, and stopped at the computer lab to check a few things. I read a couple of announcements from my teachers, and realized (surprise!) I have no class today. One thing was a lab, apparently, and one was a discussion section... neither one starts until next week.
So I suddenly had time to run the errands I was hoping to get done. Checked my mail, found no notices from Financial Aid about depositing money to my account. Grrr. Left the computer lab and checked my bank balance at the ATM -- to find over $4000 there. Yay!
I went to buy books, discovered that there was a line down the corridor just to get a bookstore locker, and went to the ARC instead. After stuffing my bag and jacket into my own locker, I went back and bought books. I got off lightly at $210, because I already have the Biochem book.
I'm at the ARC now; I'll drink a little water and relax, maybe read the novel I brought along (it's so absorbing that I want to get it out of the way before I have to concentrate on school).
Somehow this time feels more restful than break, which seems (in my mind) to have been no more than just a long weekend. Maybe it's because this time is stolen from the school clock, and therefore I'm feeling the difference between the running about I expected and the downtime I now have.
Let's start the quarter off right, shall we?
