I feel better now
Dec. 26th, 2006 12:47I went out and raced the storm this morning.
I planted root parsley (same as the regular, but it has roots like carrots), the rest of the garlic, leeks, and my multiplier onions. The garlic was supposed to be planted in October, the rest around Thanksgiving. It says something that I got them all in on Boxing Day.
They'll be fine, of course, as there's still plenty of season left. The peas are doing well also, growing slowly but steadily with only a little frost burn. The snapdragons still look miserable, but they'll perk up come spring.
I love alliums sometimes... the only real rule is "white bit goes down, green bit goes up". So long as there's a little bit of white and a little bit of green, and they don't dry out, they'll grow. You could take the nastiest, grossest green onions at the bottom of your fridge, trim off the worst parts, and so long as there's a little white and a little green, they'll grow.
It isn't raining quite yet, but I'm hungry and I need a shower. The roses and the front strip can wait a little longer...
