Music is sanity

I brought my CD player today. It was definitely the right thing to do; the music is helping a great deal. It's currently some file off a raw dump of AfterhoursDJs streams, but it's pretty decent.
I am reminded of why I dislike music with words, though -- sometimes it inadvertently pokes at wounds I don't want poked.
It's good that I have something to calm my mind with, since I managed to forget my knitting. It's in the bag I was hauling all over Alameda County on Saturday, and I forgot it needed to be transferred over. Oh, well; I can't knit in PlAnat anyway, I may skip Plant Prop, and I'll practice my handwriting or something to keep myself awake in biochem. If all else fails, I have some spare yarn and needles in my locker, if it looks like I'll go stark raving bonkers without it.
It's election day today. People are voting right at this moment. Normally that gives me hope; hell, I'll take hope from it right now. Take it where you can find it. '06 felt like it was going to be a good year, and overall it has been -- let's keep that up through the end of the calendar.
It feels like I'm having an unusually rough term this time around... then I think back to the two previous semesters and realize that they're all rough terms. It's rarely the school stuff, either; the only way that factors in is in sheer amount of time spent. The subject matter isn't difficult if I have time to study around all the crap that always seems to land on me from elsewhere. I have to wonder whether life would be just as stressful if I didn't have school in the equation...
Time to dissolve into the music, distract myself with trying to keep up with Canington while taking notes, and try not to think today.
