torquillI registered for classes, and got the ones I wanted -- 10 units, T-W-Th, 10-4:30. Not so bad.
I got to the station this morning to discover I had a flat front tire. Again.
It's a new tube, not the old one that had been patched three times... this says it's a problem with the rest of the wheel, not the tube. I checked the rim when I changed it this morning, that seems fine; I straightened out the tire shield as well. There's a crumbling portion of the tire itself, though, that might be damaging the tubes. I'll take it home with me to check and patch the tube that was in there (I put in a new one this morning), and I may have to nurse it along until Friday's Bike Church.
That meant I was walking for 45 minutes today, all over campus. I'm kind of tired from that... I did pick up a CO2 inflater at lunch, which will help tremendously, and I'm devising a way to keep a tube on the bike instead of in my locker. I'm getting tired of being stranded.
Oh, another thing: never change your tire on gravel. I shook out all the rocks I could find, but I have this very nasty feeling I missed a couple. That would be bad.
I was going to go to Kathmandu Kitchen for lunch, but couldn't find it, so I ended up at Thai Nagorn. Very nice green curry, if a little on the tame side -- it was still quite pleasantly spicy, and very flavorful. The service was snappy without feeling brusque, and the place itself is nice. Lunch is cheap ($7 including tax). I think I'll be back, even if it is a little out of the way on G between 4th and 5th.
Gotta go to lab... I think I'll do okay on the biochem midterm, but I won't know until I get there. Sigh.
