Another life lesson
Oct. 27th, 2006 01:10Sometimes problems get solved... by other problems.
I had no trouble with falling asleep in lab today. The fact that I had totally forgotten that we had the second lab quiz this afternoon sort of made that a non-issue. Unexpected exams wake you up real quick.
I think I did all right -- a B, probably. I told Dr. Canington that a word in lecture this morning would have been appreciated, as I could have spent my lunch studying a little rather than ruminating on Penn Gillette's worldview. She said she had totally forgotten about it. I'm not sure whether it's a consolation that it had slipped her mind too (it was Shannon, the TA, who administered the quiz).
I got to see dodder in real life today. Creeeepy stuff -- a plant that isn't even green, and survives by wrapping its tendrils around a host and sinking little "fangs" into the other plant wherever it touches, to survive vampirically. It spreads by little seeds that get everywhere. Ick.
Still tired, beginning to come down off the quiz adrenaline. I should go down and have My Boy make me a coffee. Then again, it might make me even sleepier...
