Running smoothly

I thought London Plane tree was well-nigh indestructible... yet they're dying by the handful at a park a few blocks from here. I couldn't see anything going on that I can say London Plane would be susceptible to (bad drainage, mower blight, etc.) and they were next to some that were doing just fine. Definitely root problems, for whatever reason... and several have already been replaced. Quite a puzzle.
This has been the sort of day that I wish all my school days were like. I had enough time to relax and hit my locker this morning, I didn't have to rush to Plant Prop, and I got a very leisurely hour-long lunch (some of which I spent reflecting in the park). Very nice, very relaxing, just what I needed after a bad start to the week.
Now I just have to stay awake through lab. Shouldn't be bad.
