Another morning

torquillWhen I said that nothing here opens before 9, that means the friggen' Post Office isn't open before 9. I've heard of lazy college towns, but this definitely wins.
I forgot the damp paper towels. My entire bike was more than vaguely sticky... A stop at a drinking fountain took it down to slightly sticky, but bearable. I'll have to hose it off at the co-op tonight. But now I know why those racks are always open, even on Friday evening.
My (sticky) back brakes stopped squealing after a couple blocks; I no longer sound like I'm torturing a puppy when I slow down.
The bookstore sells individual envelopes for a nickel. Try getting just one anywhere else.
I dreamt that I had gotten another flat tire, just before class, across campus from my destination, and this time I had used my spare tube. (I need to buy another one, maybe today. There's a bike shop not far from the post office.) Apparently last Thursday made something of an impression on my psyche.
I finished off the last glove, and now I'm just neatening up the back side. Good thing, too, as the mornings are getting cold enough that I'll want them. The mornings are also increasingly dark, but I can't really knit my own personal sun to compensate for that.
Off to Bainer; let's hope today is pretty uneventful.
