torquill: Tea cures all ills (tea)

Forgot a few things. I just got back from exchanging my jeans; happily, they had a couple in my size, though I had to hunt. Relatively painless.

I just made my first deposit to my savings account. Go me.

My "potato" onions showed up today. I've wanted them for years -- they're a type of multiplier onions, as opposed to the ones you have to sow seed for every year. They never flower; they bulb out underground during the year, like shallots or daffodils, and at the end of the season you dig them up, replant the few that you want to keep, and use the rest for cooking. They aren't huge, but they're prolific and easy to care for. And tasty, if you like onions. (Which I don't.)

Gwen hates wet weather; I've been having to wrestle the shifter into reverse ever since rain showed up on the forecast. Maybe I can find 45 minutes this weekend to at least clean her out and dust the console, if not wash and wax. It might make her a little more cooperative.

I ended up driving out to Pittsburg and back on small roads, to try to get a little more relaxed. I thought to switch out the music, and I'm glad I did; I needed the Crystal Method's sure hand on the subwoofer to unwind. After a few tracks of Community Service and a careful descent of the (steep, windy, and slick with rain) Bailey Road, I came back in a better frame of mind. Despite the various idiots I discovered along the way.

I should find a poncho or something for tomorrow, in case it's still raining. At least to protect my bag.
