Even the computers have snark

torquillI'd forgotten that when Zen (the Liberator's onboard computer) gets an order he really doesn't like, or has some other cognitive dissonance, he'll stammer for a few seconds, then cry out "Zen!" before falling silent.
He's pretty darn snarky for a computer sometimes, too. Easy to understand why Avon didn't like him, though I think even Avon finally grew a little fonder of Zen after a while. (He at least directed the majority of his irritation and love of challenge toward Orac, who was a much less amicable opponent.)
Zen is very different from the other ship's computers out there -- you'd never find Majel Barrett's voice on the Enterprise giving a resigned sigh at being ordered to regurgitate a whole collation of records all over again. And until the crew learned what they could ask of him and what they couldn't, they got some weird results -- "Tell me about X." "Wisdom cannot be given, it must be earned." "What?" "Zen!" *click*
He was definitely one of my favorite characters on that show. I can't wait to see Orac again, too.
Oh, and... This is too funny. The one for Tarrant had me almost falling off my chair.
