Medical stuff
Jul. 31st, 2006 15:20This is as much for my own reference as anything else -- I don't want to lose track of such a useful page. It's a very good synopsis of metabolic alkalosis, including causes, tests, and treatments. I've been hunting for something like this for a long time.
I need to hand this to my doctor sometime soon, and ask whether we can do some tests. I'd love to find something that helps; getting my heart rate down and respiration up would be good, even if I never get to the point where I can do strenuous aerobic exercise. It looks like treatments might be fairly simple, even though the arterial/venous gas tests used for diagnosis are expensive and difficult to perform.
