Finally, water everywhere
Jun. 30th, 2006 17:38The garden watering system is done, after enough episodes of FUBAR that I became convinced it was cursed. (Two cross-threadings, broken parts, lost pieces, a leaking valve which meant I was working in standing water much of the time, etc. etc.)
It is glued, set, and under pressure. I cleaned out the valve again so that it's not (currently) leaking. I need to replace a couple of washers on the auxiliary setup. The cutoffs set on each terminal are working exceptionally well, and will let me install the 8-way bubbler heads (they look like distributor caps) one at a time while still running the garden water three times a week.
I need to set up the corn water, which is its own separate thing, and figure out what the hell is wrong with the leaking valve. I can't see anything that would make it leak, and it stops every time I clean it; I really don't want to have to replace both valves (there's a set of two there).
That can wait. I've washed most of the thread compound goo off my hands, and I'm heading up to Vallejo to clean.
