Okay, I've got an English paper to write. I know how to do these.

Read over the teacher's assignment rules - check.
Figure out an angle on the topic - check.
Write a bunch of shorthand notes to clarify my thoughts - check.
Skim through the book and note down key passages to support my argument - check.
Gather all my thoughts together and start writing -



um.



Where the hell's that little gremlin in my head that feeds me the paper so that I can write it down? It was here last week.

Not sure what to do when the paper doesn't write itself. Wait until it does, I guess.

Hey, you! Gremlin! Get back on the job!



Update: and yet I seem to be able to write short stories reasonably well. The words feel odd, though. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Good luck with that. I went to bed last night and got up at 0400 this morning to finish my chem paper. Last night nothing was coming to me, but it flowed fairly well today.
