torquillI have a new stereo. Installing that stereo in my car is proving to be a bit more involved than I thought, so it is currently sitting in the footwell. Meanwhile, the old one is jealous of the intruder, and has decided to make my life hell.
The whole insect-collecting thing I have to do for class is getting less creepy for me. I'm actually starting to enjoy the ritual of positioning and drying the bugs for mounting, though I could still do without the killing part. (I guess death by freezer is a pretty gentle way to go.) I like the ones I have so far, at least, including a centipede which might actually have the full hundred legs.
Bad sleep for the last two nights, just as we hit the really complicated chapter in ochem (the exam is this week). I'm just about to take a Benadryl and go to bed in the hope that I won't be so exhausted tomorrow. I have to get some studying in, somehow, before Thursday. Being able to hand in the worksheet due Tuesday would be nice too.
The garden has been coming along well, and I have a design for the new front strip. The nectarine tree I'll be putting out there has been clipped to a small stick (I got a second opinion before cutting it severely) and painted white on the trunk to prevent sunburn. Now I just have to figure out who will sell me a dogwood tree.
I have to talk to Davis about class schedules and see whether I'll need housing up there. I also need to do my FAFSA, and ask them whether I should correct the current one because I may have done it wrong (they might actually want to give me money). If I thought the money anxiety was bad before, facing the prospect of university and possibly having to rent an apartment, without having even a vague picture of what my financial situation will be like in six months, is spiking things off the scale. I wish I could just work my way through school, it would be so much more straightforward... but the whole reason I'm a re-entry student is because I can't do things like that to myself.
Anyway. Bed for me, and hopefully tomorrow will be better.
