The verdict:
Jul. 24th, 2005 19:00I did fall wrong yesterday (well, I was rushed from nine feet away with no warning at all). I didn't come down squarely on my forearm, which tweaked my elbow and slammed my shoulder into its socket, displacing my collarbone. I was also correct, according to Dr. J, that I hadn't tucked my head properly -- I have a minor case of whiplash. Now I know why I couldn't turn my head this morning...
He said it should clear up in a couple of days, particularly if I ice it gently a few times. I'm sore, both in my neck and in my right triceps, but I have pretty much my full range of motion in both areas. So I figure I came out okay, all things considered. I am indeed glad that my regular appointment was scheduled for the day after I completed my self-defense class.
Besides, as Dr. J said, if that's all I were to get from a real assault, that's stupendously good... and Nick muttered this morning that it was a clear case of "You shoulda seen the other guy". I got mine in, that's for sure. :)
