One more week to go. The bio final was voted on today, and will actually be next Thursday, the same day as the lab practical. The chem final is Friday, and then I'm done. I turned in the last homework assignment and labs today. Looks like an A in chem, probably a B in bio.
I discovered a couple of things:
1) There is a damn good reason I don't sit and rehash an exam with classmates afterward. As I told someone today (after discovering some brain-fart maneuver I had done), why try to figure out what I might have done wrong when there's nothing I can do about it anyway?
2) Sometimes the absolute best thing I can do is to take a nap in my car. I've done it a couple of times... after bio this morning I was shaking, feeling thrashed, and totally convinced I was going to fail the exam in chem. I slept for an hour in a car that had an internal temp of about 95-100 degrees, woke up as I started to break a light sweat, and felt incredibly more awake and alert than I had either this morning or last night. I cranked through the homework as a means of studying, and so had that available to turn in when I took my exam. That worked well.
Of course, the fact that my body temperature was far too low probably had a lot to do with why I felt a lot better after sleeping in a hot car.... add in that I only had the back windows a bit open for air and that might have restricted the amount of oxygen I got, and that would have corrected my biochemistry further (I do better in a low-oxygen environment). Suffice to say, my body is weird. Do not try this at home. :)
So... tonight begins zero week, less than seven full days before end of term. I'm thinking about going out to eat and see Star Wars after my Friday final, to celebrate. Anyone else want to come?
