Finals have been bumped up a week. I now have the third exams for both classes the week before the finals, and the lab practical for bio is in the same period as the written final now.
Yeah, well, thank our dearest Governator for his unwavering support of higher education.
It's a mixed blessing for me, as that means I have the week before Baycon free now... but I really feel for the teachers, who are going to get one week less pay. Plus the fact that they have to rearrange their whole instruction schedule on short notice because the admins didn't hand the edict down until now.
I was at DVC (the bigger brother of my college) on Wednesday and noticed many more nasty flyers in office windows. The relationship between the teachers and the administration has grown even more hostile -- pictures of cobras with lines such as "Watch out!" have joined the "It's not over" flyer campaign. I suspect the only reason there hasn't been a strike yet is that the underpaid teachers couldn't afford to take the pay cut a strike would inflict.
