I beg the forgiveness of anyone who was planning to spend time with me, or hoping that I would get something done -- this is the post-midterm grind now. For the next six weeks, things will not slow down, and will probably speed up instead. And I'm heading into it already exhausted.
This means I have just dropped everything non-essential; that includes socializing and hobbies. I might go dancing, but only if I have the energy of a Friday/Saturday night, and given how worn out I've been that is in doubt. Otherwise, don't plan on seeing me until Baycon at the earliest. Sigh.
I plan to get a bit more sleep and a bit more de-stress time in, so I won't be a workaholic this whole time... I need to take care of myself for a while, I think.
My drastically modified to-do list, in rough order of importance:
I don't think it's my imagination... this semester is as hard or harder than anything I tackled at University. I'm getting better grades, and my health is better, but I also have better coping skills and more flexibility. I was taking a full load at UPS, and I'm taking 10 (of 12) units here. Yet back then, I still had some time for socializing and hobbies...
Bio is kicking my ass, I think. Chem is no harder than physics was, even the higher-order stuff ("easy as breathing", I told Mitch the other day), and linear algebra and diffy Q's were hard but not this demanding. All I can hope is that cellular bio is less insane.

My drastically modified to-do list, in rough order of importance:
- Finish off the taxes Done.
- Read the book for biology, so that I know what the hell is up with gaseous exchange in Protistans before the exam Thursday. [making progress]
- Bills!
- Buy a beef heart, to dissect before (again) Thursday. Not happening...
- Run through the sample questions and look over my notes before (you guessed it) Thursday.
- Chemistry homework, for Wednesday. Also not happening...
- My late Chem lab.
- Look for work. I have six weeks to find a summer job -- starting to look at the end of May will be far too late.
- The scholarship form for Impact. If I don't do this now, the six-week approval lag will bite me.
- Run the rest of the numbers on my paper, including Anova. Kathy said she'll give us a handout on how to do that, but I already know what numbers to run and how to compare them. Must do that, and be ready for the new data as it comes in.
- Hit the DVC library. I plan to ask Kathy tomorrow what she expects for references, but I expect I'll need to pick up at least some page numbers and perhaps some different refs from the library, and LMC's library still sucks.
- Write the rest of the paper. Hard deadline is May 10. I want to have it done by April 30.
