Well, so much for being able to sleep. I think I clawed together enough hours to make it through the day. I could tell I had missed my pills Thursday morning, though -- I was awake for 90 minutes, starting at 4am almost on the dot. I was just really dozing off when Greg's alarm went off at 6. Sigh.
I can feel the ache again... It's in that realm where it's hard to separate the physical and
emotional pain, but I think I've got a low-grade flare going on. Might be something in my back, might be the lack of sleep, my bet is the stress. It's definitely made my joints very sticky; I should set aside some time to stretch. Or use the hot tub. Or both.
I'm trying to breathe through it. I've got a bunch of stuff to do here, and the month isn't getting any younger; I'd like to get the garlic in before the end of the month, I have to start building the drying shed for sawn lumber before I can tackle the logs which are still in the way, and that's ignoring the downstairs bathroom reconstruction. Thanksgiving isn't at our house, but it would be really nice to have that bathroom fully functional by then.
I suspect getting something tangible completed here might help with the stress too.
The emotional pain isn't anything identifiable. Withdrawal, maybe. :) I've thrown open enough gates and hatches down there now that I've let loose some of the free-floating hurt, and it's welling up. The Doctor Who season finale hit me especially hard for not being a regeneration episode... maybe it's a good thing I won't be watching it for a while. The Adventures of the Loneliest Man in the Universe may not be especially good for my functionality at the moment.
I have the odd urge to punch something soft repeatedly. Frustrated monkey.
I'll load up the mp3 player with trance music and see if I can do some physical activity, sometimes that calms me down. (Stretching before, hot tub after? Hot tub first. Stretching if necessary.) Let's hope my stamina holds up... my heart rate's averaging a little higher than I'd like.
