Why I hate vacuuming

Once again, I spend five minutes cleaning the area rug in the living room, and the next thirty minutes trying to get the hair off the spindle where it's wound so thick the belt has started to slip and burn. We kill more vacuum cleaners that way...

Maybe we should get a canister vac or something. It just strikes me that there should be some way to do a frigging upright such that a household with two or more long-haired people doesn't cause it to choke after doing a 4'x3' square.

Been there. Done that. Keet killed almost as many vacuum cleaners as Nick and I have... and that's after picking up the obvious fur-drifts. Now it's just the two of us, plus my not-so-longhaired parents, and three shorthaired cats.
