Now that you are, I was hoping to pick your brain on the subject of water filters. We are considering investing in one.

Under the sink, or whole-house?

How thorough does the filtration need to be (e.g. reverse osmosis vs. simple carbon block, UV or not?)

And who are you? ;)

Me. Silly phone logged me out.

I'm pretty sure under the sink will do it, and I think carbon might do it, but I'm not sure. I just can't stand the taste of most tap water, so I don't drink enough when that is what I have. I love the UV/reverse osmosis/classical music played in the pipes/whatever stuff that we get at the co-op. It tastes good.

I don't like the water from most fridge-systems, or Brita pitchers. We had a PUR filter that hooked to the faucet at my former place of employment, and it didn't do it for me, either, so I don't know if that means carbon filters aren't what I want. A jumping off point would be useful, and I know you've done quite a bit of research on the subject.
