I spent a little time this afternoon in an effort to replenish my wardrobe... even my "good" white shirts were starting to look a bit threadbare, and the bad ones are downright ragged.
So I hit two different thrift stores. I'd forgotten that particular smell of old cigarette smoke and despair... it's been a while since I've gotten any new clothes besides a couple of pairs of jeans (those are always bought shiny new). I spent a little time combing through the skirts, dresses, and vests too, but didn't find anything interesting. I spent a lot of time saying "Oh, good gods" and wondering what on earth possessed people to buy these things in the first place.
It paid off, though. Slave Nation Army had a 50% sale on the entire store, so I got four shirts for about $5, and three at Goodwill for $11. One of the SA shirts I bought because it amused me: it's a WotC company shirt, complete with embroidered logo on the breast. It's in good shape, though, so I may change out the buttons (I hate brown buttons on a white shirt) and wear it from time to time. :)
