I love Steven Moffat. Even when I hate him.

Maybe especially then.

Not caught up yet, but nothing else in the season is likely to top "Silence In the Library".

Yeah, I just watched that two-parter the other night and was considering posting something similar. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming season when he takes over show. Unfortunately we have to wait until 2010 for it (although thankfully it looks like there will be 4 specials for 2009). As it is, his episodes have always been the highlight of the season.

Moffat is great at doing suspense and horror, which is really kind of odd for a guy who was primarily a comedy writer.

Actually, what I get from all of Moffat's Who episodes is that he truly groks time travel. Many writers for Who use time travel to set the scene for the episode in some fanciful time and place and then there's no use of it for the rest of the episode.

But Moffat...

“When you told me to meet you at Castle Tersurus, I simply travelled back in time a hundred years... and I bribed the architect! Say hello to the Spikes of Doom!”

Say hello to the Sofa of Reasonable Comfort

But then, I guess only a comedy writer could so succinctly describe Time, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, as “more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey...  stuff.”
