The big discussion wasn't car versus floor, it was bed versus floor -- I regretfully conceded that I should take the bed since I'm the one who had to work today. As for dealing with folks who are in that position, I have a little experience with it and a pragmatic point of view: if I had just "freaked out" instead of dealing, that wouldn't have helped anyone at all. Bah. I am glad that you're feeling better, and I hope to see you at the ball on Saturday.
