Satisfying
Feb. 24th, 2008 19:02I feel wonderful. For the first time in who knows how long, I just feel great.
Not only have I had two weeks out of contact with 409 -- I was being exposed on a weekly, possibly daily basis up in Davis -- the antibiotics I got for my sinus infection seem to have wiped out the low-grade infection in my tonsils (for now). My immune system is standing down. Add to that lots of fresh air and rest, and wow. More energy = more things done in less time = less stress = happier system = more energy. That's a spiral I can get behind. :)
What I got done this weekend:
Cleared a 6'x12' space, laid cardboard down, moved two palettes into place, and built one 4' tall freestanding compost pile
Cleared the melon patch
Cleared the rest of the garden perimeter (I'm done except for the very front)
Dug 1/5 of the front trench -- the difficult end -- down to 18" deep
Researched mp3 players (for most of an evening), then ordered one
Picked out which vegetables I want to plant this year, and selected ten tomato varieties (nine favorites, one new) to sow tomorrow
Cleaned up the light rack, moved it upstairs, bought new lights for it, and got it running
Baked another set of rolls for school (12 with cheese, 4 plain, one of which went to Dr. J), then packed and froze them
Went to see Dr. J
I'm astounded. I haven't gotten a huge amount of homework done, but my stress level is way down; I feel less rushed, like I have time and ability to get the work done by the time it's due. I feel so much better about being caught up on gardening -- I can start digging any time it dries out enough, and I'm going to sow seeds right on time.
I'm enjoying this. I hope it sticks around for a bit. :)
