Either this is a clever piece of fiction that managed to fool a few newspapers, or it's actually real. Having had trouble with my skept-o-meter lately, I don't feel qualified to tell. ;)

Edit: The former. I'd visit Snopes more often if they'd get rid of the piles of pop-up windows...

Yeah, I had edited the post to add the link to Snopes. The reason it came up, however, was that apparently Fox News ran it as a story today, complete with the report that police have been making arrests... odd.

So that must be what "Fair and Balanced" means.. they fairly balance their news between real stories and fake stories :)

See, that's why I also use NoScript (its website). NYTimes.com also has a popup that manages to get through FF's popup blocking, but all I wind up seeing is a smallish window with a barred circle in it. ;)
