Pictures of Geek Culture

I was alternately thinking "that's pretty cool" and laughing incredulously. And some pictures were unremarkable simply because of how common they are in my social circles.

I wanna know what the guy in the first picture is doing. It looks like he's rear-projecting onto frosted plexi.

I saw the last picture (the microwave), and laughed so hard I had to go fetch my geeky husband to look at the pictures, and he was able to explain some of them (like the ink explosion - somebody rolling a critical fumble while trying to refill an ink cartridge!), but completely dumbfounded by others (ball... taped to... laptop? wuhtehfuh?). We agreed that the Monitor Arch (with keyboard keystone!) was the work of bored college students, on the basis of "Hey, do you think?... let's try it!"

He also thought that first picture was tres cool, and wants to figure out how to make it work. ;)

The thing tapes to the laptop was, we think, an apple. Thanks for the explanation of the ink cartridge -- it had baffled us. :)
