Having finally looked at my biochem midterm, I can confirm that I retained my score of 72. Seeing as he had told us that the mean had dropped from 70 to 50 on this one, though, I effectively gained almost 20 points with all that studying. I'm satisfied, if a little dismayed by how much effort it took.
We also got our Plant Devel midterms back today. I grabbed mine out of the pile and did a small double-take, then looked up at the board. The mean was 285 or so, okay... other stats like standard deviation, sure... high of 300. What did I get? 300.
Hmm. Well, it wasn't as hard as I had feared going in, so I guess he just went easy on us, and I was one of a handful of people who got a full score. It's unexpected, but not unheard of... I did get a 100/100 on one of the plant prop exams last quarter, and plant anatomy and development is pretty easy for me to understand in general. So I got a 100%, neat, yay, good day.
I showed it to Angela, who proceeded to tell me that in a convo with our TA yesterday, he had mentioned that someone had gotten a 100% on this exam -- and that it was the first person to get a full score in the last twenty years that Sundar's been teaching this class.
Blink. Blink. I started to giggle, and proceeded to chuckle with extreme good humor all the way to the MU.
At least I know I'm in the right line of work...
