At least it's not a fine
Jan. 9th, 2007 09:57Okay... when I got a "Notice of Abandonment" (it reads like a notice of imminent impounding) on my bike the Monday after Thanksgiving, I was peeved. Sure, it was hitched to the fence at the station, but it's not like there's enough racks for bikes around there.
Now I'm ready to ride the two miles to the police station and raise hell in person. Notice of Abandonment... on a bike that's been (legally) hitched to an official bicycle rack. For all of four days.
If I ever have to bail out my bike after walking two miles to the police station because some idiot of an officer cut my Krypto and hauled it away from a legit rack because I happened to be sick some Tuesday, my printer is going to be smoking from the letters that result.
I really wish I could go down there today, but I have a doctor's appointment. I may very well catch an earlier train tomorrow, though, just so that I can go down and grab someone by the scruff of the neck.
Grar.
Nothing else going on, except that I got to the train station two minutes late because I was an idiot and logged on to lily. I barely had time to wash the ice off my windshield. Thankfully, the train was 12 minutes late...
I've actually read the chapter for lecture this morning. That's new. Later today I'll check my school email with a net connection that doesn't suck as badly as the one at home.
