Caught up on LJ. That doesn't mean I've read all the comments, or responded to all the posts I'd like to respond to, but I have at least read the entries. Major accomplishment there.

I took some time to really groom myself properly, which feels good -- unfortunately, my mother took off for Oregon today, so I'll have to wait to get a haircut. I may go spend a little time in the hot tub later to take away some of the stress of this week. Today, at least part of it, is take-care-of-me day. I'll try to do some homework, or at least sewing, to stay busy without doing anything overly physical.

I'm one binding-off row away from finishing the second glove. I need to tie off and clip all the loose ends now, but I'll be able to wear them this winter. Woo! (This is despite running out of yarn. I had to finish off the left thumb with a different yarn of similar color and smaller size. It looks okay, though.) I may try to get pictures, as they are nice gloves.

Given all the fubar circulating out there, I wanted to confirm that the Weasel and I are doing well, both individually and together. I hope things calm down soon.

The fact that an article suggesting that the Democrats might have an edge in the elections, simply because they have prettier candidates, made it onto the front page of the Washington Post is bad enough. But reading the article made it worse.

... [R]esearch has shown that voters who are easily swayed by social trends tend to favor more attractive candidates. Conversely, people who resist social trends prefer unattractive candidates.

Aaaugh.

Could someone with a more formal knowledge of logic please put a name to the fallacy in the second sentence? The sheer idiocy is making my eyes bleed.

The rest of the article is horrifically shallow. Read it at your own risk.

Today I've had trouble regulating my temperature, extreme fatigue, depression, trouble concentrating, lack of appetite, oxygen transport problems, and now tremors are kicking in. That's almost my full list of crash symptoms.

I think I'm going to have to be far more careful how much I push my physical limits during the week.
