torquillWell, I'm pretty satisfied with the election results. Virginia looks to be a Diebold nightmare, with a paperless "recount" determining the balance of the Senate, but locally and overall I'm mostly content.
The Alfa has three of four calipers done, and after that we get to replace the wheel bearings (take the rotor off, disassemble the parking brake, change the bearing, and put it all back together). Then we bleed the brakes and put the wheels back on, and it's driveable. Yay! Maybe this weekend.
I may have skipped Tuesday's class, but my Plant Prop teacher sent me a note saying I got 100% on the midterm exam. I had three hours total to cram nine chapters for that exam... I have no idea how I pulled that one off. If I could really assimilate it, it might take some of the sting out of the biochem exam score.
I went to the appliance warehouse for the second time this week... I went on Monday, and they were closed. I went today, and got told that they had recycled every scrap of cardboard this morning. Aaargh! I still need cardboard to mulch the front strip, and now I won't be able to get it until Saturday. Aggravation.

knaveofhearts had to go back so that we could watch the firing range scene in "The Ghost Machine" a second time, to really appreciate the finesse of a man who is the master of his art. It was beautiful. :)
I got my second raincoat today... the color is lighter than I like (I'm wondering how long it'll be before I get chain grease on it) but doesn't look bad. It really is a sand color. I'm much happier with it than I was with the slate-blue one I had, which looked like a shop smock and was hugely unflattering on me. Looks like I might be able to make the ends of the coat cover most of my thighs, too, which would be really good.
I'm doing pretty well tonight. I'm feeling almost emotionally ready for tomorrow, and the two midterms next week don't fill me with dread. This is the way I'd like things to be.
