I did fine on the midterm. Dr. Leary wins the "Evil Prof" award, though: no hats, no hoods, nothing on your desk but a calculator and your pen. No, not pencil, pen. I have never in my school career encountered a prof that insists that the students take an exam in ink (why, when erasing only hurts the student?) The questions were reassuringly normal, though she wanted us to know two protein-cleaving substances that weren't even listed in the book; for one I just had to shrug and say "I dunno". There were enough problems that even though we were crammed in shoulder-to-shoulder, I think everyone was too busy writing as fast as they could to look at any other papers.

Now I just have to study for the plant prop exam tomorrow, where I haven't even cracked the book. This week is not yet over...

I was feeling seriously overwhelmed and depressed today, with so much to do... when I showed up at Dr. J's, he placed his fingers on my neck and just said, "I'm sorry." Apparently my whole body was a train wreck, and my neck had fallen out from under my skull in four different directions. I already knew that my neck in particular can affect my mood quite profoundly, and added to everything else that was out of whack, it's no wonder I was submerged in gloom. It took a while to get everything straightened out (I had to get back on the table twice) but after an hour and fifteen minutes I was able to tell him he had gotten the last thing in the small of my back, because I suddenly felt very light on my feet. My body has a definite opinion of when things are Correct and when they are Not, and when it changes state it can be pretty dramatic.

So I'm in a much calmer and more capable mood now. I should go out to the shop and see about my tire next, then hit the books. It's all good, though.

Someone on lily was listening to a discussion of the merits of pie, and just posted wistfully, "ENOPIE". I probably find that more hilarious than the comment really warrants. (But it's so geeky!) I want the time to make pie... maybe this coming week. I've been craving apple pie, and it's coming to be the time for mince and pumpkin... mmmm. Then I could define havePie().

When I make pie crust I'll try to make enough for several batches. It'll get used. :)
