Moving slowly today. It's been a long week, and looks to get longer yet.
I hate having to choose between sleeping and eating, but I've been doing a lot of that lately. Six hours really isn't enough sleep for me to get by on for more than a day or two, but I'm running at three such nights so far. Not expecting a lot more tonight. Friday I may just go to bed at 6pm. I should at least get dinner first, though.
I feel like I should be witty or something, but I just feel tired.
The good news is that I think I have the structures of all 22 amino acids memorized, along with their short and letter codes. I'm still a little fuzzy on pyrolysine, but I'm getting it. Now I get to look into the cleavage methods, and when to do things like mass spec or size-exclusion chromatography. The midterm is on Tuesday (now that makes for a scary Halloween).
I've been consciously practicing stress-reduction methods, and it may be working -- either that or apathy is coming to save the day. I need to mark my sample ballot before election day, I need to figure out the last class I'm taking for next quarter (we figured out how to pull two classes out of the mess of a grid, and I need a fluff/filler class so that I can register for more than six or seven units, something like horseback riding or ethnobotany), I need to finish the dress before Sunday, and I need to study for two midterms next week (surprise! plant prop isn't something I'm horribly worried about). I need not to fall over dead of exhaustion. And I still haven't planted garlic, though I did get the peas in the ground. All this before November fourth. Well, I suppose the ballot can wait until the fifth if it has to.
I want to see
eyeofcanaan. I won't be able to make it to Gaskells, so I'll have to settle for seeing her at the wedding. Bah.
I don't know how I'm going to stay awake in lab today. I have a few hours yet to find out.
And yes, the cut tag is a (very) inside joke. I feel like the Cockatoo.
