Staying afloat

Most of lab was prepared slides, which don't test my dexterity, though the few sections we had to do were of pea roots. Pea roots have an unfortunate tendency to crush, no matter how sharp the razor is. I broke out a new one, made a few slices, and was still annoyed at the result... until I was told that I was looking for overall structure in the things, not fine detail. The overall structure had already been quite evident to me without fighting to section the things, so I just shrugged.
My labmates urged me to take pictures because the slides were really good, though, so they must have been instructive in some way. I took pictures of all three sections, washed up, and left.
Lunch was Chipotle, because I was feeling dull and unadventurous, I was worried about a slow leak in my front tire, and I was sort of craving their carnitas. Free-range pork FTW.
That slow leak is annoying me. I tightened the valve stem, which really was loose, but I'm wondering whether some sharp object got past the tire shields. I may take it home with me to check it out -- leave the bike here, just take the wheel.
Now I just have to make it through biochem, where my radar is telling me we'll have a pop quiz. I'm about halfway done on memorizing the amino acids, and I'm still rather shaky on naming the structures (rather than putting structures to names)... then there's the various protein-cutting techniques, which I haven't really looked at. I still have a long way to go before the midterm...
After that, the 7pm train, and down to see
knaveofhearts where we can watch something fun and eat good food. I need a little fun right now, with the stress mounting from various directions.
