The weather forecast today is for a hundred and nineeleven degrees. This is an all-time high. It has never gone over 106 in this city that I can recall.

Man, I wish we had air conditioning right now.

You do have an oasis, although I do not know if it is unlocked. Someone needs to see the beast... but I don't know when Shannon was planning on heading down.

All I can think about is how much the mites are loving it, and doing a number on my tomatoes and cukes. I didn't get out there to spray everything down with the hose today, and I really should have...

You keep saying that, and yet I keep thinking about how hot it would be to walk the 35 miles between me and it. Because, you know, there's this whole "not having a car" thing to consider.

Besides, thinking about how cranky Stoli is when you're gone, and adding the heat on top of that, does not make for the peaceful haven I'd like to imagine...

We've been pretty lucky with the bugs. I'm having some technical difficulties with my supports for my plants, though. I've never had so much foliage that you have to crawl through a tunnel to get to the tomatoes. This is truly insane. We've got tons of tomatoes, too.
