First: I still have heirloom tomato plants. They've gotten tall, and a bit potbound, so they should be planted as soon as possible. I know [livejournal.com profile] hopeforyou wanted one (or more?) and [livejournal.com profile] amanda_nye asked me for a good sandwich variety, but I'm not sure how many (they need ten-gallon pots).

That's two or three out of about a dozen I have left, though. One last call before I put them on Craigslist!

Second: If you're wondering why I de-friended you on Facebook (or didn't add you when you asked to be), you may have missed the announcement that I'm in the process of closing out my account there. It's nothing personal -- the only friends I have left there are the ones for which I have no other contact info, and I'm working at getting email addresses and such for those people so I can leave FB for good. Zuckerberg is a bastard who screws over his closest friends, let alone the public, and I don't want any part of that charlie foxtrot anymore.

For a good synopsis of the reasons I'm getting out, read this article. It's the tip of a large iceberg, but it provides a good feel for why some big names are fleeing Facebook.

I'd be happy to take your tomatoes, I just don't know if there is a convenient way to get them.

Well, I have eight still not spoken for (I'll double-check with my other takers), of various varieties... I don't know whether you saw my previous post, but I have 4 pinks (of three different varieties), a red, a yellow, a green, and a black. All of them are slicing size; I didn't have any extra cherry tomatoes this year. How many do you want, and do you have preferences as to what colors?

You'll be seeing Greg and Nightshade next Wednesday anyway, when they will take custody of our Maker Faire tickets... Greg says he's willing to bring the tomato plants as well.

I think we have five different varieties of tomato here. I can't imagine that there would be a kind I wouldn't welcome. And next weds. would be awesome.

The continuing kerfluffle on FaceBook makes me happy that I never created an account there!

Any left

Hallo,
I'll happily take some of your tomatoes if you can hold them until Memorial Day weekend. Childe_dirk is a panelist and I will be at least stopping by BayCon, if you'll be stopping in there or I can probably arrange to swing by your house on the way up or down from Sac. Let me if that's possible at the usual e-mail.

Feel free to send some down with [livejournal.com profile] eastbaygreg this weekend; I'll find a home for them somewhere on the property. Assuming the deer don't eat them. I also got someone's culls on zucchini this year so I'm feeling pretty happy about quasi-farming.

Deer love to eat tomato plants, and if they don't take those down to nubs, they'll eat the fruit. Sorry. :/

I'm a little concerned about the zucchini, too. Unfortunately, deer-proofing techniques appear to vary depending on the deer involved, and fences have to be 6' double-stockade wooden ones, which is a bit hard to do casually.

I have a couple more requests for them... will you take any number, or is there a maximum/minimum you'd like to receive?

I have no minimum, and I expect that if there were more than four or five, I might have to rehome some of them, but that entirely depends on my housemate's opinion of them. (We have a lot of garden bed, and all of it is sunny.) I would say that I can take whatever waifs you'd like to send my way.
