The server went down yesterday when there was a power blip, and came up with multiple I/O errors for one of the drives. I took it down and left it for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
foogod. When he came over, he discovered that the errors were on a drive we don't use. Yay! The bad news is, it led to a bunch of testing, and sure enough the UPS that we had the server on has pretty well kicked the bucket. Add "Replace UPS" to the list. Sigh...
However, the power shenanigans also irritated the DSL router, and (temperamental beast that it is) it finally just had a nervous breakdown and lost all its settings. I called meer.net a half-hour before their support closed (at 10pm) and got no call back. Shocking.foogod finally figured out the settings with a bit of trial and error, and we were back up just in time for me to go to bed without doing my online homework.
All in all, I don't feel quite ready for today yet. I'll try to whip through the App of Comp midterm today and get to a computer to register for classes; failing that I'll have to miss my usual train and get down toknaveofhearts' house an hour later. Crossing my fingers on that one. At least I know what I'm aiming to register for.
