There was dew on my windshield this morning. As I pulled around the driveway and ran the windshield wipers, I discovered a small patch of ice. By the time I got to the street, my entire windshield was iced over. Never had that happen before. Even knowing what was going on, it's still weird.
Something I forgot to set up on my new Ubuntu installation: the printer. The driver says it's okay, but the printer itself isn't hearing it. Gotta troubleshoot that.
It's so cold in Davis that it made my lungs cramp up on the way to the ARC. It's warmed a little, but I can feel the congestion deep down; I'll have a cough for a while. It takes so little to annoy my respiratory system...
At least my hands are warm now. The price I pay for taking the fingertips off my gloves is that the tip of my thumb was blue. I just need to make sure it's not so exposed; I'm not going to give up the convenience of being able to dig in my pockets for things without taking off my gloves.
It hit me again as I came out of the ARC today that I'm here. I'm back at University, and hacking it (pretty well, actually). I dreamt of going back the entire decade I was sick, and here I am. Life is good.
Oh, and biochem is cancelled for Thursday "because we're a little ahead". Either she really does rush things, or there is (as I've suspected) a shortage of things to be taught in this particular quarter. Either way, I get to decide whether I want to stay over for dinner up here, or take my free time and use it on something like sewing.
